Art & Culture

I recently ran across the following websites which should be of interest to teachers and students of the arts.

Google Cultural Institute - Geared at students and teachers of history, geography and art, find artworks, landmarks and world heritage sites, as well as digital exhibitions that tell the stories behind the archives of cultural institutions across the globe.

MetPublications - Access over 50 years of Metropolitan Museum of Art publications; read online or download; search by title/author/keyword, thematic category and more; these catalogs, which cover artworks, dress, furniture, etc., complete with full color photos, would be helpful if you were doing a research paper on a particular time period (common request we get at the reference desk...life during a particular era).

Getty Publications Virtual Library - A great resource for art teachers and students; search by title, keyword or author.

More to Explore on the Library Website
Paper due? For articles, many full-text on topics related to the arts, browse or search the InfoTrac Fine Arts & Music Collection, available from our databases page.

Teachers can find more web resources by subject, including Fine Arts, on our educators page.
