Free Access to Select Gale Databases

Celebrate National Library Week with free access to some of Gale's most highly praised online resources from April 12 - May 15, 2009. Some of these databases are already provided free of charge by Fauquier County Public Library. Those listed below in bold are currently not part of the library's offerings, but are available to you free of charge through May 15. Use the green search widget below to access these additional databases. (NOTE: You'll need to make sure you allow pop-ups, as when you choose a database, it pops open in a new web browser/window).

  • Global Issues in Context - offers global news and perspectives on issues and events of international importance and provides background information on them, placing them in context. It offers students the ability to develop the framework to better understand 21st-century issues, helping them think critically about global connections and the interdependence of all nations.
  • Small Business Resource Center - acomprehensive database offering content that covers all major areas of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax and more.

  • Gale Directory Library - cross-searchable, authoritative directories on companies, publishers, associations and more.

  • DemographicsNow Library Edition - a helpful source of information for prospective and current entrepreneurs — as well as for students in business programs — or anyone who needs to identify cultural patterns or sociological trends.
  • Gale LegalForms (library already provides access 24X7)
  • PriceIt! Antiques & Collectibles - a comprehensive, subscription-based database
    for identifying, researching and pricing art, antiques and collectibles.
