Learn a Foreign Language Month

December is Learn a Foreign Language Month. Here are a few free online resources to assist you in your quest to become multilingual:

• The Annenberg Foundation provides free video on demand for English, Spanish, French and German language learners. While there is no cost, users must create a free account to watch online.
• BBC Languages - Games, online courses, video/audio resources and links to online tests; check out their essential phrases in 36 languages.
• BBC Kids - Foreign language instruction and activities for primary (ages 4-11), secondary (ages 11-16) and students 16+
• YouTube.com videos tagged "language lessons"

Of course, you don't have to go online to learn a language. The library has a number of items in the collection for learning a new language, including:
