Interactive Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Now you can search for and get information about any of the 58,000+ veterans killed or missing in the Vietnam War using footnote.com's free Interactive Vietnam Veterans Memorial. If you want to find a particular name, you can do a simple keyword search. If the database finds a match, you’ll be shown key facts such as the person’s rank, grade, specialty, and casualty date using data provided in the military personnel records from the National Archives. You can also search for names that conform to certain criteria such as enlistment type, race, hometown, casualty date, squadron, and much more. Users can leave photos or comments to any name on The Wall.

Footnote.com is a subscription website (i.e., you have to pay to use their resources other than the Interactive Vietnam Veterans Memorial) featuring "tens of millions of original source documents from the world’s finest archives available on the Internet for the first time, including military records, naturalization papers, and historical newspapers." Footnote also allows free viewing and uploading of user-contributed content including old photos, letters, and documents. Users can annotate, spotlight, and connect records.
