Drug Information Portal

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) recently launched a database that covers over 12,000 drugs, including prescription and non-prescription drugs, dietary supplements, drugs of abuse and investigational drugs. You can search by brand name (Advil) or generic name (ibuprofen) or browse by class of drug (prescription, over-the-counter, dietary supplements, drugs of abuse and investigational). The database also breaks down information by audience, so resources for students and educators, health professionals or even drugs that specifically affect breastfeeding mothers. Additional information can be found at your local library.
